April Birchbox

April Birchbox

This month’s theme was “Rainy Days” which is something we’re actually quite short of in California. We haven’t had a rainy day in a few weeks which is a stark contrast to what the ladies at Birchbox are experiencing in New York. That being said, I couldn’t exactly relate to the theme this month but I did think it was a cute one.

I was familiar with a few of the products in the box just because I’ve either experienced these brands through Birchbox already or because I’ve already purchased them or had them used on me (like at the salon) before.

Here’s what I got in my box:

I was already familiar with the first three brands listed. theBalm’s sample was really nice––it is a dual-purpose shade that works on the lips or on the cheeks.

I’ve been buying KIND bars for the past three years. Good stuff. I wasn’t too excited to receive this in my box because it’s food, and I pay for a beauty box, but at least I like it.

Davines is a brand I’m familiar with because my hair stylist used to use it on me all the time. I always loved the way their products felt in my hair. They’re still a fairly independent brand, but I’m happy to have gotten a sizable sample. This is a product I’d love to carry when I travel!

BeeKind body lotion. BeeKind is not a brand I was familiar with before. But this lotion is special because it’s “Made with natural skin conditioners like honey and organic chamomile, this natural hydrator absorbs instantly without greasy residue, leaving behind a zesty lemon verbena scent.” Also any purchase helps support a healthy honeybee population.

And then Harvey Prince perfume. Again, I’m pretty over the perfumes I’ve been getting. I mean thanks to Birchbox, I probably never have to buy perfume again, but I am never excited to see perfumes in my box. I can always get these as free samples at Macy’s or whatever.

I wish I got nail polish in my box this month! I love the Color Club polishes that have been going out to some people.
