One of my new favorite treats to indulge in is an affogato. For some of you who may not know, an affogato is an Italian coffee drink where you mix ice cream with espresso. Imagine the creamiest coffee you’ve ever tasted, with the sweetness of ice cream fully intact. If I could sum it up in one word, I’d say affogatos are heavenly.
And guess what? They’re super easy to make.
Vanilla Affogato with Chocolate Syrup:
Yields 1 affogato
- 2 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
- 1 cup Black Coffee or a shot of espresso
- Chocolate Syrup
Make your coffee or espresso according to instructions. Then in a glass or mug, scoop two chunks of vanilla ice cream in. Top with chocolate syrup if desired. Then, once you’re ready, pour your steaming hot coffee over the ice cream. Watch the coffee melt the ice cream into a thick and sweet coffee drink. If you want a chunky consistency, pour less coffee in. Otherwise, pour in all the coffee and enjoy with a straw!
